WATER CRISIS PALESTINE

A WATER CRISIS

The Gaza Strip, Palestine is in imminent danger of a water crisis.

The Gaza Strip only receives 300mm of rain per year, which has adversely affected the underground water reserves. Moreover, 95% of underground water for domestic consumption is contaminated; the water cannot be consumed or used for domestic purposes.

WATER FOR LIFE

In April of 2013, we launched a campaign in the UK to raise funds to supply thousands of litres of clean drinking water to homes, schools and public buildings in the Gaza Strip.

WHAT WE DID

With the help of a local NGO, our water & sanitation team purchased 12,500 litres of water which was transported around the Gaza Strip in a large mobile water tanker. Large water tanks in schools, public buildings and homes were filled with clean drinking water.
