A VISION FOR
THE FUTURE PALESTINE

MEDICAL CARE

Many orphans and children from poor families in Palestine are in need of medical support for visual impairment.

Due to financial constraints on these children and their carers, most do not have access to regular medical care and eye examinations are seen as somewhat of a luxury. Visual impairment can affect a child’s ability to learn and their progress at school.

CREATING A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

In April of 2013, we launched a campaign with the aim of assisting visually impaired children in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

The plight of Palestine’s poor and needy children was highlighted in the campaign and funds were raised to carry out eye examinations and to provide spectacles to those in need.

WHAT WE DID

With the help of a local NGO, a list of poor and needy children was compiled, giving priority to the most needy.

Our medical aid team carried out eye examinations to find children who were in need of spectacles.

Children who required spectacles were given a choice of designs to choose from. The required lenses were inserted into the chosen spectacles and gifted to the children.
