ORPHANS IN NEED

Children in the Occupied Palestinian Territory live in an environment of continuous violence, fear and limited horizons. They grow up with the prospect of injury and death, many raised without their immediate family members as a consequence of war.

The recent bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip in 2014 left 54,000 children homeless, 538 were killed and a further 3,370 were injured. According to statistics, as a result of the latest attack there are now 2,000 new orphans in the Gaza Strip.

SUPPORT FOR THE ORPHANS OF PALESTINE

At Olive Grove Foundation, we believe every child deserves  a safe, happy and healthy childhood and the opportunity to build for a brighter future.

Our orphan support team responded to the latest crisis affecting children in the Gaza Strip by launching a campaign in the UK aimed at raising funds to provide financial grants for some of the most needy orphans and their carers, in a bid to alleviate their suffering and improve their living conditions.

WHAT WE DID

Our team on the ground in the besieged Gaza Strip, compiled a list of orphaned boys and girls, giving priority to the most needy. Financial grants of 1,500 Shekels were given to fifteen orphaned boys and girls which their carers would use to purchase the most needed provisions, such as food, clean water, medicine, clothing, educational materials, heating supplies, etc.
